Bereavement support

Forget Me Not

Forget Me Not is a private (fee paying) bereavement counselling service for adults in north east Essex grieving the death of a loved one.

The death of a family member or friend can be devastating and can bring about stronger emotions than you have previously experienced. Grieving is a part of bereavement, and it is unique and personal to you. It can be a stressful time, which you will cope with in your own way, and support from others might help.

For many people, talking to the people around them can help manage grief. However, some people may find they benefit from support from someone not closely involved in their life.

Bereavement support for Children

We offer bereavement counselling on a one-to-one basis, either in person, over the phone or by video link, based on your preference. Our goal is to support you as you navigate your grief, exploring your thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviour, in a safe and confidential space.

To request a booking for a private (fee paying) bereavement session with our Forget Me Not counsellors, please fill out a short referral form by clicking the button below.

Our team will then be in touch to book you in for the next available appointment to suit you. If you have any questions, get in touch by calling 01206 848163 or emailing forgetmenot@sthelena.org.uk

If you would like to refer multiple children/young people, please fill in a referral form for each individual.

The child/young person can refer themselves if competent to do so, or the parent/carer can make the referral on their behalf with the child’s consent.

Someone supporting you or your child, such as a healthcare professional or family member, can also refer with your consent.

If the person who has died was a patient of St Helena and your family received support from a St Helena family support worker or counsellor, they can continue to support you through your bereavement. Please call SinglePoint on 01206 890 360 to get in touch with them.

If you live in mid Essex, bereavement support can be provided by Farleigh Hospice's Yo-Yo Project: Support for children and young people. For more information and to make a referral to Yo-Yo visit their website.
