Hospice Education

St Helena, in partnership with St Elizabeth Hospice and St Nicholas Hospice care, offers local health and social care professionals specialist training and education in end of life and palliative care.

A range of courses and education is provided by Hospice Education, from introductory sessions, to palliative care masterclasses and full study days.

Training and education is provided both online and in person and covers an extensive range of topics for health and social care professionals involved in the care of individuals facing incurable illness and bereavement.

In person training may take place at St Helena’s Learning and Development Centre in Colchester, with St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds or at St Elizabeth Hospice’s Education Centre in Ipswich.

Palliative care masterclasses

Formerly known as community of practice education sessions, palliative care masterclasses are held monthly, with each session focussing on a different topic. These are delivered online via Microsoft Teams and consist of a 45 minute presentation followed by a 45 minute case study. Delegates are able to attend both or one of the 45 minute sessions.

Please be aware, places are limited so are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Bespoke training can be arranged and tailored to your organisation's specific needs.

Our flexible approach means the Hospice Education team is well equipped to offer bespoke training either at St Helena or St Elizabeth Hospice, or at your place of work. Please contact us at training@hospiceeducation.org.uk for more details.
